Ladera FC Club Meeting

Thanks to all who attended the meeting Sunday evening. I think it was everyone's intention at the meeting to keep Ladera FC as fun and enjoyable for everyone, while being as competitive as possible.

The following items were discussed:

Friday Night Pick Up

Will continue at least through June with the understanding that payment of annual will be enforced and neither Christian or Sorin should be left alone to try and enforce this with nonpayors. Starting this Friday, you will be asked to leave the game unless you appear on the PAID list or you pay on the spot. All members are asked to help enforce this policy. As of today, we have not collected enough funds from Friday pick up players to break even on the lights and field costs for Friday night. We are assuming this will change over the next few weeks with enforcement.

Competitive Team Structure

The basic team structure will remain the same. The teams will be limited to a roster of 24 players. Rosters are currently being reworked to accomodate as many players as possible. A waitlist will continue to be kept for players who would like to be included on the team should openings come up. "A" team players who miss 4 consecutive weeks of games will be asked to give up their roster spot. "B" team players who miss 8 consecutive weeks of games will be asked to give up their roster spot.

Fields

Insurance, field and light cost has been paid through June 30, 2009.

Ladera FC Family Day/Party

We discussed having a party on a Sunday afternoon following our games. The idea is to have it at one of the clubhouses and have the pool accessible. Lunch and drinks would be provided by Ladera FC. May 31, 2009 is a tentative date for the party.

Ladera FC River Trip

Is May 1-3, 2009. All are welcome.

Ladera FC - Changes to River Trip

Several months ago we talked about doing a trip to Havasu the first weekend in May. It may have been too far away for some of you to plan for. The location (hotel) has changed but we are still going to put it together. Email me at cconrad@laderafc.com if you are interested in more information or want to go.

More information on the resort is here:

Soccer/Core Fitness Class Opportunity Available

Kevin Luxon requested this post go out regarding this class:

Here is the flyer I got from instructor Mr. Goodheart. If anyone is interested in a one hour Kettlebelt training class on Saturdays, this is a good opportunity to strengthen your core for soccer:

Hello Everyone!

You are receiving this E-mail because you requested information for possible Kettlebell classes in Ladera Ranch. I've been assigned by my RKC (Russian Kettlebell Challenge) Team Leader Mark Cheng to teach Kettlebells and Hard-Style to Ladera Ranch and surrounding areas.

For those of you who are interested in taking classes, I'm going to start off at once a week on Saturdays. If the class takes off and becomes popular, then I will expand depending on the needs of the class and clients.

The prices and all the information you need are on the attached flier.

Since everyone receiving this E-mail has shown interest in the class prior to any advertising, I'm offering you a special deal. If you guys decide you want to go past the first two free sessions, then I will mark down the second two sessions to $20.00 for the two. After that, prices are at standard RKC rates.

WHEN: January 10th, 2009 at 12:00 noon.
WHERE: California Martial Arts Academy in Ladera Ranch - Next Door to Swirlz Yogurt.

I must stress that the first two sessions will be focused on proper form and alignment! If your form is off, I won't let you touch a bell until we correct it! I will not have anyone injured in my class! Those of you who know me as a Martial Arts Instructor already know that I stress proper form and alignment in just about everything I do and teach.

I would like to have a headcount for the first day of class. Please contact me via E-mail or call me direct at (949) 637-7176 to let me know you will be attending. If you have any friends that are interested in the class, feel free to print them a flier and have them give me a call. Lastly, if you have any questions regarding pricing, scheduling or kettlebells in general do not hesitate to call.

Happy Holidays,

Ron Goodheart - Chief Instructor / Program Director
